The Boeing Fleet Team Trade Show is being held from September 30 – October 1 at the Westin Long Beach Hotel. Crane Aerospace & Electronics, a segment of Crane Co. (NYSE:CR), has announced the approval of its SmartStem® Wireless Tire Pressure system for use on Boeing 737NG aircraft. Operators now have the ability to access tire inflation data that enable preventative maintenance while avoiding in-service issues related to low tire with an associated improvement in dispatch reliability. Crane’s patented technology is also certified for a variety existing aircraft including the 747-8, 777 and 787 Boeing aircraft and numerous business jets.
Crane Aerospace & Electronics has announced the approval of its SmartStem® Wireless Tire Pressure system for use on Boeing 747-400 aircraft. This approval represents the first certification for retrofitting SmartStem on large commercial aircraft. SmartStem technology is standard on Boeing 777 and 787 production aircraft.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner makes its way back to USA for its final stops of the “Dream Tour” with Crane products on board
On March 14, Crane employees were invited to the Long Beach stop of Boeing’s six-month Dream Tour, to get an up-close look at the brand new 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
As the Boeing 787 Dreamliner traveled through the Asia-Pacific region as part of the third segment of its worldwide Dream Tour, Crane’s Brake Control and Antiskid System was on board in Singapore. Crane provides the Brake Control and Monitoring System for the 787, which combines brake control and antiskid, SmartStem® wireless tire pressure sensing, and brake temperature monitoring into a single system.
Boeing workers have started assembly on the wings of its 1,000th 777 to be complete in February. During the Dubai Airshow this week, Boeing and Dubai-based Emirates Airline signed the single largest airplane order in Boeing’s history. Emirates Airline ordered 50 777-300ERs with the option for another 20. Crane Aerospace & Electronics is proud to be apart of the success of Boeing’s 777 with many products on board.
On March 8, Crane Aerospace & Electronics, a Crane Co. segment, signed an Authorized Repair Services Agreement with Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co., Ltd. (GAMECO) at Asian Aerospace in Hong Kong. Under the terms of the agreement, GAMECO will serve as an authorized repair station in China for a number of Crane products including Boeing aircraft Fuel Pumps, Engine Fuel Flowmeters, and Brake Control Wheel Speed Transducers and Control Valves.
