Crane Aerospace & Electronics has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) and Parts Manufacturing Authority (PMA) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for its SmartStem® Wireless Tire Pressure System to be fitted on the Bombardier Learjet 40 and 45 aircrafts.

Crane to Present at Next AZBAA Meeting in Mesa, AZ

SmartStem makes it easy to wirelessly check tire pressure

On January 11, 2011, Crane Aerospace and Electronics has been invited to present its SmartStem® wireless tire pressure sensing technology, including current and planned aircraft certifications, at the Arizona Business Aviation Association’s (AZBAA®) Monthly Meeting in Mesa, Arizona. A live demonstration will be provided to those in attendance, and current users of the technology will be available to present their feedback on how our system has saved them time and money. Crane is excited for this opportunity to meet face-to-face with business aviation enthusiasts and professionals.

Learjet 60 Pilots authorized by FAA to check aircraft tire pressure

Bombardier Aerospace announced the FAA’s approval of Crane Aerospace & Electronic’s SmartStem® Passive Wireless Tire Pressure System for use by Part 135 Learjet 60 Pilots to check their own tire pressures. This announcement allows these opperators to more conveniently, and more economically comply with a recent FAA Airworthiness Directive, effective July 13, 2010, that requires pressure checks every 96 hours on the Learjet 60.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) and Parts Manufacturing Authority (PMA) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for its SmartStem® Wireless Tire Pressure System to be fitted on the Bombardier Learjet 60 aircraft. SmartStem Tire Pressure Sensors are already certified for use on the Cessna Sovereign and Citation X aircraft, and Crane is in the process of certifying this equipment on additional business, regional, and large commercial aircraft.
